Joe Rogan Experience #2542 - Steve Hilton · Aired Aug 19, 2026
Claim summary · not a verbatim quotation
The mayor of Arcadia, California, was identified as a Chinese spy.
The finding
What the evidence shows
The case is real, the word spy is not the charge. Eileen Wang, mayor of Arcadia, was federally charged with acting as an illegal agent of the People's Republic of China and agreed to plead guilty in May 2026. Prosecutors say she and a co-defendant ran a site posing as local Chinese-American news while taking direction from PRC officials on what to post. That is unregistered foreign agent work and propaganda, not espionage.
