This claim is specific to an individual organization's operational scope, which is not information accessible through general knowledge. Confirming this would require access to the organization's internal program reports or the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation contract logs.
During the Iran-Contra affair, the CIA was involved in selling drugs in Los Angeles to fund the Contras in Nicaragua.
The CIA's own Inspector General looked into this and found no evidence that CIA employees sold drugs themselves or dealt directly with major traffickers like Ricky Ross. What the report did find is that the agency knew some Contra-connected people were trafficking cocaine and dragged its feet on cutting ties with them. The Harvard half checks out but the MIT half doesn't hold up as well. Harvard epidemiologist Martin Kulldorff, a co-author of the anti-lockdown Great Barrington Declaration, really did get suspended and blacklisted on Twitter over his COVID posts. But there's no solid record of an MIT expert being deplatformed for questioning lockdown effectiveness specifically, so lumping MIT in with Harvard overstates the case.
London's West End rebounded immediately after the pandemic because venues allowed both vaccine passports and negative COVID tests for entry.
The 'immediately' part oversells it. Vaccine passports and negative-test entry did become part of West End reopening policy around July 2021, but reporting from that same summer shows theatres were still struggling badly, with COVID cases in casts and the 'pingdemic' forcing shows to cancel. Recovery happened, but it took years, not an immediate bounce back.

The 2023 WGA contract bars studios from using AI to write or rewrite literary material, from using a writer's work to train AI without consent, and from using AI to cut the number of writers or their pay. That's a real hard line, even though writers themselves are still free to use AI tools voluntarily if they choose.
