On the episode the guest said it took him 20 years to fly again, but the public record puts his first flight since the 2008 crash in August 2021, about 13 years later. Reporting on that flight, including a CNN article, says he had not traveled by air since the September 2008 crash, which makes the gap roughly 13 years rather than 20. The claim overstates the gap by about seven years.
