Joe Rogan Experience #2545 - Jesse Michels · Aired Aug 25, 2026
Claim summary · not a verbatim quotation
J. Allen Hynek admitted that he played a part in a government cover-up regarding UFOs.
The finding
What the evidence shows
Hynek was openly critical of how the Air Force ran Project Blue Book, he called it 'totally inadequate' and said the program had helped make UFOs into a disreputable field of study. But that's criticism of how the program was run, not an admission that he personally took part in a cover-up. Calling it an admission of a cover-up overstates what he actually said.
