JRE MMA Show #183 with Rico Verhoeven · Aired Aug 4, 2026
Claim summary · not a verbatim quotation
The WBC interim champion is Ajit Kabya.
The finding
What the evidence shows
The fighter is Agit Kabayel, and the transcript spelled his name 'Ajit Kabya'. He held the WBC interim heavyweight title from February 2025, but in late June 2026 the WBC promoted him to full heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated his belts. So the claim that he is the current interim champion is out of date. Falsifier: a WBC announcement naming a separate interim heavyweight champion as of October 2026.
