JRE MMA Show #183 with Rico Verhoeven · Aired Aug 4, 2026
Claim summary · not a verbatim quotation
The guest is the greatest heavyweight kickboxer of all time.
The finding
What the evidence shows
The host said this as praise, and it is an opinion rather than a measured fact. Verhoeven's record supports it: he is the longest-reigning Glory heavyweight champion, with a record 13 title defenses. Combat Press has also ranked him number one since 2014. But Ernesto Hoost, Semmy Schilt and Peter Aerts are routinely named as equals or better, with Hoost and Schilt each holding four K-1 Grand Prix titles. A widely accepted ranking or poll that names him the undisputed number one would flip this.
